Vera Noviani Harwanto joined Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners (NSMP) as an Associate in 2013 and was promoted to Partner in 2023. With over a decade of professional experience advising clients across the private and public sectors, Vera focuses her practice on aviation, mergers and acquisitions, capital investment, corporate restructuring, energy, and general corporate matters.
Vera graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law, University of Pelita Harapan, in 2011, and subsequently earned her Master’s degree, with cum laude honors, from the University of Indonesia in 2013.
Vera has extensive experience in the aviation and airline industries and has led numerous transactions and legal matters involving aircraft and airline operations. She has represented international aircraft lessors, aircraft owners, and Indonesian airlines and operators in connection with aircraft leasing, sale and purchase transactions, aircraft repossession, and other aviation-related matters. She also regularly advises airline (both passenger and cargo air carrier), and aviation clients on their day-to-day business and operational activities, including regulatory, contractual, commercial, and general corporate matters. In addition, Vera has represented various financing parties in connection with aircraft financing transactions and the creation, perfection, and enforcement of security interests over aircraft and related assets in Indonesia.
In addition to her aviation practice, Vera has led numerous mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions across a range of industries, including but not limited to energy, power generation, waste-to-energy, aviation, and shipping. Her experience includes leading legal due diligence processes for Indonesian companies with diverse business operations, advising clients on transaction structuring and negotiations, and assisting clients through the successful completion of complex M&A transactions, including multi-jurisdictional transactions. She has also advised both foreign and domestic clients on the establishment and structuring of companies in Indonesia, including matters relating to corporate structures, investment requirements, regulatory considerations, and ongoing corporate and commercial activities.
Vera has particular experience advising companies in the waste-to-energy sector, including on legal and regulatory matters relating to their day-to-day business and operations. Her experience covers waste transportation, waste management, and the utilization of waste as an energy source for electricity generation.
She also has experience advising clients on carbon development and trading projects, including legal matters relating to carbon offset projects in the forestry sector.
Throughout her career at NSMP, Vera has received various industry recognitions, including ‘Next Generation Partner 2025’ by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025, ‘Next Generation Partner 2024’ by The Legal 500, Indonesia Rising Stars 2023 by Asian Legal Business, ‘Rising Star 2023 in Aviation Practice Area’ by The Legal 500, and ‘50 Future Legal Leaders 2023’ by Asia Business Law Journal.
